Lilac Ballerina

Hi there crafter's

I hope you are loving all the samples for the new

Beautiful Ballerina's

designed by the lovely Jayne Nestorenko.

I have loads still to show you but will start to share others too.
The above card was a very simple one to make.
I started with a 15cm x 15cm white base card, matted and layered
using a deep purple, then another white layer,
then finally the lilac patterned paper.

I then used a die cut to add to the centre in white. I used the
Hougie board to add lattice to the centre of the die and added
Yes you guessed it!! purple glue dots.
I also added glue dots to the corner's to help bring in the deeper tones.
Added a lilac ribbon and the kneeling ballerina.

I have used my Promarker's to colour her in because I didn't have
my Prisma pencils at the time. I think I am going to try mixing
the pencils and Promarker's together. Some friends from facebook
use the Copic's and Spectrum's with them so it has to be worth a try.
Because their work is stunning, Linda, Hellen and Jacqui
to name but  a few. Great inspirational colouring.

Lots of new lovely idea's are in the pipe line at Nestorenko HQ
so I'm really excited to see what we will be using in the future.

Myself and Darren are heading down to Rugby again at the weekend
for another workshop with Jayne and all her crafting friends.
I am so looking forward to meeting up with all the regulars again
because we missed the last workshop due to being on our holidays.

Then the last workshop is the weekend retreat which we are so looking forward to
being able to have plenty of time to talk as well as craft.
Christmas themed projects will be well under way by then,
but I don't know about you but I still have a large amount
of family cards to make yet and people keep having birthdays too!
How inconsiderate are they lol!! Good excuse to make another card though
so not really complaining.

Right the sun is trying to break through the clouds so I'll say goodbye for today
and go and hang my washing out, get my other housework jobs
done. Then I can craft for an hour or so.

Hope you all have a really good weekend too with lots of crafting.

See you next time

until then

In The Spotlight

Hi there crafter's

I hope you are all enjoying the  Bank Holiday weekend.
The sun is trying to shine as I type this but at least it's not raining.
So my washing is hung out, hovering done, all I need to do
now is finish this post then start on my mega pile of ironing!
I wonder how long I can make this last lol!!

Best get on with it I suppose, the ironing is not going to go away, unfortunately!

So today's card creates a stage scene . I have used the elegant curtains
and the ballerina who is dancing. I,ve created a spotlight using
distress inks and coloured the images with my Promarker's.

I alternated between red and white card to create the card base and
added some red cosmic glue dots, now there's a surprise!!!
I just love how they can be made any size and so cost effective too.

These stamps are just gorgeous and I could continue playing with
them for ages and as you will see over the next few days I have lol.

If you fancy having a go yourself then head over to Jayne's webite
and take a look in her shop as they are at an introductory price at the moment .

Dance the night away

Hi there crafter's

GOSH did it rain last night!
But thankfully the sun is trying to shine again at the moment
let's hope it will last the day.

So on with the Beautiful  Ballerina's  Inspirational cards.
For this card I have chosen to do my favourite style of card-the easel.
I have used a XL die for the card base using the inside and
outside of it to create extra layers.

I have used the dancing ballerina and created a frame
using the border , which I think works very well.
It's coloured with Promarker's and I have added some 3D
flowers for some depth. I was going to decoupage her dress but I
changed my mind, but I think I will next time.

For the stopper I have used another die and added
 some flourishes at the sides.

This is what it looks like closed. I,m looking now and think
it needs something in each of the corner's!
Look out here comes the glue dots!! lol

Lilac Ballerina

Hi there crafter's

Today I am sharing another card using  Jayne Nestorenko's new designs.

Beautiful Ballerina's

This was a very simple card to make but I think it
has a delicate look to it.
To create the card base I have used a Joy die which is
absolutely stunning in my opinion .
It must be the lattice effect lol. For those of me who know me will understand what I,m saying!!

I drew around the outside of the die to get the white  base.
Then I drew around the inside of the largest die to
create the lilac layer .
Then the delicate die cut for the inside and front of the card.

I tried to keep everything light and delicate regarding colours
and flowers etc . I think it works , I hope you agree.
I love decoupage so I love to cut these dancers out to create a larger scene.

Pro markers were used for the colouring of the Ballerina, but I think
maybe next time I would go slightly stronger on the colours so she stands out more.
Oh well we live and learn!!

If you like the look of these designs they are now
available in Jayne 's website shop.

until tomorrow

Beautiful Ballerina's

Hi there crafter's

Today I would like to share with you this card
that I have made using Jayne Nestorenko's latest designs

Beautiful Ballerina's

The A5 photopolymer stamp set contains two beautiful
ballerina's. One kneeling tying her ballet shoes and the other in a dancing pose.
The extra's that Jayne does so well to complete the scene include
elegant curtains, ballet shoes and other beautiful additions.

I have chosen to use browns , yellows and golds for this card and
placed it within a delicate edged die shaped easel card.
I coloured it with my Promarker's, added a stopper
to hold the sentiment and the obligatory glue dots !!
Well they are in my eyes anyway.lol.

If you haven't seen Jayne's new sets, they are now
available on her website and a gallery will be following shortly.

There are also samples on Jayne's
'Time for Tea with Jayne Nestorenko '
 facebook page.

The Blog on Jayne's website

Sharon King has also started a group on facebook on Jayne's behalf called
'Jayne Nestorenko's Inspiration'
where you can become a member of the group and share
your creations made with any of Jayne's designs past or present.
There are some stunning cards in there already and more will be added daily.
I hope you will come along and join us for competitons and challenges too.

Loving my Prisma Pencils

Hi there crafter's

I was on facebook the other week and spotted
a post about Prisma colour pencils and was intrigued.
So I went over and watched the video tutorial  and I have to say
how impressed I was. They looked so easy to use and the effect was really good.
The shading looked totally realistic and so I fancied having a go.
I tracked down on you tube more tutorials to make sure
I,d be able to do the same , then went over to Amazon to order some.
They arn,t cheap but I do now wish I had gone
for the larger set of over a 100 colours.
The set I opted for has 72 and although a really good selection
of colours, once you get the hang of it ,
you want more! trust me!! lol

So I am loving the effect they give and although I need
to do a lot of practicing I am already finding them so much
easier than water colouring or using my Promarker's.
To me the shading looks more natural.

I placed my order for the paper stumps , Sansador fluid and special
pencil sharpener along with the set of pencils.
As they were coming from America I had to wait a week!!
It seemed forever , especially as the other products came first
and the pencils a few days later!
The postman must have wondered what I was doing,
 looking out for him! lol

But within a couple of hours I had completed these two images,
not too bad for my first attempts and for a change
I really enjoyed the colouring  part of card making
which is normally my least favourite part!

The first attempt was using JAYNE NESTORENKO'S
Farm Boy and Rabbit.

My second attempt was the new Ballerina image from Jayne Nestorenko.
This design is from a new set of Apple of my Eye collections
and was first seen at the Summer Crafting Show at Doncaster
in July this year and Jayne will be selling it at Stoneleigh this weekend too.

I have done some more colouring since then but alas I
can,t share them with you because the are new and up coming designs.
They are gorgeous and as soon as I can share them with you I will .
Believe me it will be worth the wait .

Until next time

Best Friends

Hi there crafter's

Today I am sharing with you the card that
I have made for my great niece's birthday.

It's a special image with meaning for her as the image
was from a photograph that her aunty took.
I showed the photograph to Jayne and she loved it and
this delightful image was the result.
So with it being Keira's birthday today I just had to make
her card with it.
It would have been rude not to! lol
So Happy Birthday Keira I hope you like your card.

I have used a pink card base, matting and layering with
pinks and whites.
I used a creative Exppressions embossing folder for the lattice design
and finished the bottom part with the hougie board.
I added a spellbinder die designed by Sue Wilson
and layered on it the girls.
I used a narrow ribbon to thread through the die cut
to add texture and depth to the card.

So I,m now late for her party because people keep
dropping off my hubbys cards and prezzies for tomorrow .
So I had better get a move on!

I,m really missing not being at Stoneleigh today
with JAYNE NESTORENKO.
If you were lucky enough to go , have a lovely time
and buy lots of goodies. SO JEALOUS!

Until next time

JENS xx
