I'm Back!

Yeah I've remembered my password!!
It totally went from my mind , but I knew it would come back eventually
It usually does !! lol

So I hope to be able to get back to normal, well as normal as it gets anyway, really soon.

We have had quite a busy year to date, with my son Darren celebrating
his 21st birthday

Going with the Lady Gaga theme with a matching card and cake

Catching up with friends and family and getting out and about in
the early sunshine. We had a lovely day out to Bridlington
early April and it was just like a summer's day.
The coast was really busy with people enjoying the early sunshine.
Doesn't the sun make you feel so much better and everything
looks brighter, so good for the soul.

I haven't done much crafting this year only family card's ,
but I hope to share with you the cards that I have made in the near future.

At the moment we are enjoying a lovely Easter weekend with the
lovely Jayne Nestorenko and her hubby Paul,
plenty of tea and choc's to go around , well there was ! not so many left now lol
Nice to have them stay for a few days .

I've also been lucky enough to make lot's of new friends from home
 and abroad here on facebook.
Thanks for your lovely company and here's to a belated Happy new year!!!

I'll be back soon with the card that I made for Darren's birthday.
See you soon

Christmas Adorable's

Hi there crafter's it's been quite a while since I last posted a card.
The time just seems to be whizzing by and Christmas is nearly upon us.
Just over a month to go , so I needed to get my
advent calendars made before the first of December.
I will try to post a photo of them as soon as I can.

I hope you are all well and managing to get all your Christmas
crafting sorted in time for the posting dates. That's my next job,
getting my international cards sent off.
Don't know about you but my list is getting longer rather than shorter!

Well what do you think to Jayne's fantastic offers at the moment
over on her website. The 'Explosive ' offer on her Christmas Adorables
is just silly, I think she's lost the plot!! lol

 £4 is a giveaway price

My set is complete or I would certainly have
been topping up my collection, but I have sorted out quite a few stocking
fillers for some of my crafty friends. They are so useable too, never date and like their
name suggests just 'Adorable' images you couldn't help but fall in love with.
I definitely did.

The card above I made from the stamp sets and the CD rom.
They work together so well, as do all of Jayne's designs.

I made an envelope style of card, but made it into my favourite
easel shape of card. I can't help it, I love them lol.
The template for the envelope also came from the CD rom
then I just altered it to an easel , so easy to do.

I hope you like it and if you would like to make something
similar pop over to Jayne's website shop and treat yourself while
they are still available at this silly price.

Until next time

Weekend Workshop with Jayne

Wow doesn,t  time go fast !!
It's already over a week since we were at
Jayne Nestorenko's first ever weekend workshop.
We had an amazing time meeting up with old and new crafting friends
and made some stunning projects . I still need to take some photos
of the fully finished projects, but I have some part way there ones!

In the photo above are one of the groups, the others were still crafting.
Here's a quick roll call

Pete, Pat, Thelma, Daz, Kay, Helene, Hilda, Angie and Me..........Paul
Mandy, Rachel, Debbie, Bev, Elaine

We had just packed up at the end of the weekend.

The Holiday Inn at Crick nr Rugby was a fantastic, luxurious,
comfortable, friendly and welcoming place to spend a whole weekend of crafting.
Add to that the talented Jayne Nestorenko and Helene and
you have the perfect combination for a fun and relaxing time.
The food seemed never ending and our 'free' time was fun filled.
Yes Jayne you got us , most of us fell hook line and sinker for
your little prank, you little minx, so funny!!

I,m just sorry that all this years workshops are now over and we
have to wait until next year for some more.
I really hope Jayne holds another weekend event
as we had such a wonderful time and didn,t want it to end, but
like all good things they do! unfortunately.

So until next time when I will hopefully have the project pictures sorted.
Bye for now

Jayne's September Workshop

Hi there crafter's

Don't tell Jayne lol, but I've pinched one of her photos of
her last day workshop down in Rugby last weekend.
Crikey was it only last weekend !!

We had a lovely day meeting up with Jayne , Helene and all our fellow crafter's.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
We were split into two groups , one group working with Jayne learning painting
techniques with H2O's and then swopping over to Helene's group in the afternoon.
Helene was using Jayne's Evergreen Tree and Reindeer Trio stamp sets ,along
with Distress inks to create some stunning scenes.
I loved doing this technique it looks so complicated but is quite easy to achieve
once you know the tricks of the trade, so to speak.

Here are one of the designs we did with Helene, mine to the left and Darren's to the right.
We were all using the same stamps but every single person's
card topper looked different. I find that amazing !!
The photo is a bit blurred , sorry about that as it is really crisp in real life.

Again the picture is not very clear but I hope it shows how different
the scenes can be using the same designs.
I will definitely be trying this again and we only used one distress ink too!

So now that's all the one day workshops finished for this year, just the weekend retreat
to look forward to and it won,t be that long either. October the 12th and 13th
at the Holiday Inn at Crick near Rugby are the dates we need to remember.
Not that I,m likely to forget as we are looking forward to it too much.

Well that's all for today

until the next time

Lilac Ballerina

Hi there crafter's

I hope you are loving all the samples for the new

Beautiful Ballerina's

designed by the lovely Jayne Nestorenko.

I have loads still to show you but will start to share others too.
The above card was a very simple one to make.
I started with a 15cm x 15cm white base card, matted and layered
using a deep purple, then another white layer,
then finally the lilac patterned paper.

I then used a die cut to add to the centre in white. I used the
Hougie board to add lattice to the centre of the die and added
Yes you guessed it!! purple glue dots.
I also added glue dots to the corner's to help bring in the deeper tones.
Added a lilac ribbon and the kneeling ballerina.

I have used my Promarker's to colour her in because I didn't have
my Prisma pencils at the time. I think I am going to try mixing
the pencils and Promarker's together. Some friends from facebook
use the Copic's and Spectrum's with them so it has to be worth a try.
Because their work is stunning, Linda, Hellen and Jacqui
to name but  a few. Great inspirational colouring.

Lots of new lovely idea's are in the pipe line at Nestorenko HQ
so I'm really excited to see what we will be using in the future.

Myself and Darren are heading down to Rugby again at the weekend
for another workshop with Jayne and all her crafting friends.
I am so looking forward to meeting up with all the regulars again
because we missed the last workshop due to being on our holidays.

Then the last workshop is the weekend retreat which we are so looking forward to
being able to have plenty of time to talk as well as craft.
Christmas themed projects will be well under way by then,
but I don't know about you but I still have a large amount
of family cards to make yet and people keep having birthdays too!
How inconsiderate are they lol!! Good excuse to make another card though
so not really complaining.

Right the sun is trying to break through the clouds so I'll say goodbye for today
and go and hang my washing out, get my other housework jobs
done. Then I can craft for an hour or so.

Hope you all have a really good weekend too with lots of crafting.

See you next time

until then

In The Spotlight

Hi there crafter's

I hope you are all enjoying the  Bank Holiday weekend.
The sun is trying to shine as I type this but at least it's not raining.
So my washing is hung out, hovering done, all I need to do
now is finish this post then start on my mega pile of ironing!
I wonder how long I can make this last lol!!

Best get on with it I suppose, the ironing is not going to go away, unfortunately!

So today's card creates a stage scene . I have used the elegant curtains
and the ballerina who is dancing. I,ve created a spotlight using
distress inks and coloured the images with my Promarker's.

I alternated between red and white card to create the card base and
added some red cosmic glue dots, now there's a surprise!!!
I just love how they can be made any size and so cost effective too.

These stamps are just gorgeous and I could continue playing with
them for ages and as you will see over the next few days I have lol.

If you fancy having a go yourself then head over to Jayne's webite
and take a look in her shop as they are at an introductory price at the moment .

Dance the night away

Hi there crafter's

GOSH did it rain last night!
But thankfully the sun is trying to shine again at the moment
let's hope it will last the day.

So on with the Beautiful  Ballerina's  Inspirational cards.
For this card I have chosen to do my favourite style of card-the easel.
I have used a XL die for the card base using the inside and
outside of it to create extra layers.

I have used the dancing ballerina and created a frame
using the border , which I think works very well.
It's coloured with Promarker's and I have added some 3D
flowers for some depth. I was going to decoupage her dress but I
changed my mind, but I think I will next time.

For the stopper I have used another die and added
 some flourishes at the sides.

This is what it looks like closed. I,m looking now and think
it needs something in each of the corner's!
Look out here comes the glue dots!! lol
