Floral delights 

Hi there crafter's 

Today I am sharing a card I have made

with just a couple of flowers from 

Jayne Nestorenko's

Grande Journeys Accessories stamp plate 

We were discussing how the flowers would work

on their own with a totally different feel to the rest of the collection.

This is what Jayne does best , she allows us to take

any image no matter how large or small

yet it still works within its own right.

I hope you agree this card works and just wait until you see the card

that Jayne came up with, you,ll love it , I do.

You,ll have to wait to see it though.

Going back to my card.

I have used the large flower and a couple of

the smaller ones.

I stamped and coloured them with promarkers 

then cut and shaped them to make them more 3D.

I arranged them around the corner of the 

card base and glued them into place.

I then added leaves to break up the flowers

and a sentiment in the top left hand corner

to balance the design.

If I made this card again I think i would maybe

add a matt layer in a deeper shade to help give definition 

and maybe a bow made from ribbon

instead of the card candi.

Always lots you can do and change around.

Have a play and have fun with your crafting.

Taj Mahal Easel Card 

Hi there crafter's 

I hope you are all well and managing to keep dry

its hard to think its summer, dreading winter!!

Then again it might be warmer, you never know!

On to today's card.

This card is made from 

The Taj Mahal Scene stamp plate 

from 

Jayne Nestorenko's

new collection of Grande Journeys .

I have used a die and made it into an easel card.

Then stamped onto the smaller layer, edged 

with distress ink and layered on top.

Being a decoupage fanatic I have decoupaged the 

building and the trees to give extra dimension.

Not because it needs it, just because I can ! lol.

I ,ve added the sentiment on some coordinating

 card and placed at the bottom.

The stopper is made up with the corners and borders from

the Asian lady stamp plate.

I have cut away the border lines and used the flowers,

again I have decoupaged up the flowers

and think they go together nicely to make a stopper with a difference.

I like to use things differently , its like a challenge to me

to use something in any way other than how it was 

intended to be used. It must be the rebel in me lol.

Its a simple card and very easy to make as the scene

does all the work for you.

Koyoto Garden Tag  Box

Hi there crafter's 

Today I am sharing with you a 

tag box I made using 

Koyoto Garden scene stamp plate 

from 

The Grande Journeys collection.

site soon but if in doubt check them both out.

The box was quite easy to make and sits on a die

cut for the base and the top of the lid.

I edged it with gold decorative edge peel offs

and attached the flat scene.

For the tags I have used both the 

spellbider standard tag die 

and

the concentric tag die , which I think is x cut? 

maybe wrong on that, I can,t remember off the top of my head.

I layered the die cut outs onto matching card

and again edged with the same peel offs to carry

the theme over and link them all together.

I think they need a couple more flowers and 

maybe some ribbon to finish them off,

what do you think?

The scene was stamped onto watercolour card

and coloured with watercolours .

This was just to show it doesn,t have to be a card,

the images make lovely gifts, scrap book embellishments,

candle edges , etc etc 

as you will see over the coming weeks they can be used 

for numerous things and occasions.

Today's the day

Website goes live and her shop opens.

Things have been very hectic lately and so 

I have no more cards that I can share with you at the moment .

But I am lucky enough to be able to share 

with you this stunning card made by

Pat Robinson

Pat attends Jayne's workshops down in rugby

and was lucky enough to be able to purchase

 Jaynes stamps before the official launch.

The website and workshops are the only places you are able to buy 

this gorgeous collection of stamps and to

see some lovely cards to give you added inspiration.

I look forward to seeing what other people do with them as well.

This is another stunning card made by Pat.

They help to show how the same scene can

look completely different , simply stunning.

Easel Card 'Just for you '

Hi there crafter's

Today I am sharing another card I have made 

using

 Jayne Nestorenko's

Rialto Bridge from the

 Grande Journeys collection

It shows how the scene can be used on its own

with just a sentiment and an embellishment or two.

Some coloured card and lovely backing paper.

For the card shape I have used a Spellbinder die

and made it into an easel card.

The backing paper on the base comes from 

The Summer Adorables CD rom

and goes with any project.

 I have used this particular design

 on numerous occasions.

The scene was stamped and coloured with watercolours

then mounted onto a navy card stock.

The edge of the card has been decorated with

 faux stitching to add interest.

The sentiment and flowers also come from the 

same collection of stamps.

I wanted to use the scene on its own to

show that they don,t have to be used as a pair.

Each individual design works well on its own

no matter what the size . 

Over the next few weeks we hope to demonstrate

 how this can be done in some interesting and different ways.

Rialto Bridge Stepper Card

Good morning crafter's

Today I am sharing  another of Jayne's new collection.

This one is the 

Grande Journeys Rialto Bridge 

stamp plate and matches perfectly the 

Grande Journeys Venetian Lady .

The card style is a easel stepper card with the

added twist of having a decorative base to sit on.

It folds down flat to an A6 size and fits

 an A6 or 6" square envelope for posting.

On the base I have used a backing paper from

The Summer Adorables's CD rom, 

which all mix and match with any project you would choose to make.

For a stopper I have used the jewelled flourish

from the Venetian lady stamp plate and layered

it on a matching card and attached with 3D glue gel.

In this collection Jayne has provided us with fabulous

corners and/or borders to create frames or use as embellishments,

or as in this case edged the base and the stepper fronts.

They are quite ornate and can be used along side the ladies

or as a generic frame for any project.

The Rialto Bridge stamp plate is highly detailed but still

easy to colour and looks so effective.

In this case I have coloured it with water colours,

 but it could also be used with any of the numerous

stamping techniques.

The Venetian lady I stamped and coloured with promarkers

and decoupaged up her frills and headress 

to give extra dimension.

I hope you agree that they work really well together.

The designs work really well for any and every occasion, 

for male or female alike.

Venetian Lady

Hi there crafter's

Here as promised are the other two versions of the 

card I shared with you yesterday.

This one uses the Venetian lady from the 

Grande Journeys collection 

and uses all of the embellishments cut down to make 

them more delicate and placed in the corners.

This is the third card in this trio collection. 

It uses the Asian Princess and all her embellishments.

I just had to make one in each colour way and

I hope you agree that they make a nice set

and would cover most occasions.

More sneaky peaks to follow and don,t

Geisha Sneaky Peak

Hi there crafter's

I,m back from my holiday in Great Yarmouth now,

my laptop is back in service,

just in time to share with you my first creation

made using 

Geisha

from the Grand Journeys collection

the latest range from the very talented 

Jayne Nestorenko

The stamp plate includes the Geisha girl/lady

along with a stunning corner and border, 

which I have cut down to make the corner embellishments.

The flowers are from the Accessories plate. 

I,ve coloured and shaped them and added to her hair comb

to give extra dimension.

I,ve also decoupaged her Komono.

I,ve made a collection of the three ladies in

this same design of card, which I created myself

using an embossing board using selected parts.

Each design is a different colour way to suit each individual design.

Over the next two days I will be sharing the 

other two designs, I hope you like them.

exclusive new collection.

Wash day

Hi there crafter's

Today I,m sharing a card we made at a workshop

by Jayne Nestorenko

last year or the year before I can,t remember exactly

as we have made so many .

It uses the wash day scene from the

Summer Adorable's CD 

and the stamp plate.

Here is a picture of the inside

Jayne demonstrated how to make the washing line

reach across from side to side on the inside of the card.

An alternative to a pop up!

It works really well with the clothes hanging from it .

My mum thought it was great.

I had to restick the clothes post, because the weight

 of the washing had pulled it back off

 by the time we got back home!!

Oh a womans work is never done  . ha ha ha 

If you were expecting to see a sneaky peak ,

 you,ll need to keep looking over the next week or so,

 you won,t be disappointed when you see them .

Crafter's At Work

Hi there crafter's

No cards to share today as I have 

been too busy catching up with the  dreaded housework.

Don,t you just hate it when that happens!!

So today I thought I,d share some photo's 

of my son and I, at Jayne's workshop.

They are held at The Arnold House , Rugby.

We are mainly housed in the brick part, with a bar, reception,

toilets etc in the white section.

We spent the morning crafting the red Indian Princess 

card I shared the other day.

Then we were treated to a delicious three course meal,

a choice of some traditional and mouthwatering meals, especially the sweets!!

Afterwards we had time to do some crafty shopping,

with a chance to buy some of the products we had been using

during the techniques.

Then it was back to our crafting and another card

which included doing another two techniques.

I just loved the double stamping technique 

that Helene demonstrated, I will definitely 

be doing that one again.

As you might have gathered we had a brilliant day.

Jayne is doing other workshops throughout the year.

Rialto Bridge

Hi there crafter's 

I hope you are all keeping safe and dry after all

this terrible weather.

Today I,m sharing another card we made at

Jayne Nestorenko's

 workshop yesterday.

Above is my attempt at the card and I chose to use

the double stamp technique that we tried during the day.

It,s a brilliant effect and so easy to do once you get

the hang of the technique.

It makes you look cleverer than you are, well me anyway!!

This card shows the alcohol ink technique with 

acetate stamped and placed over the top. 

This card is not fully stuck down, as we were just playing

around with the placing etc.

It needs to be trimmed down and another few matts and layers

added to finish it off.

Tomorrow I hope to share another sneaky peak

from another set of the stamps.
