Paintbox Poppet's

Hi there crafter's has the rained stopped where you are?
Yesterday it did here, but today it gives rain all day, oh joy!!

It gave me time to craft if nothing else.

The card above was made using a Grand Label Die
and I folded  it in half to create the shaped card.
To make it sit properly ,so that it did,nt rock,
I cut a slither from the bottom base at the back
and this helps it to stand correctly.

I,ve used a nice green striped card for the background .
Card candi to accent the scallops and a ribbon
to add interest along the top.
I used the ribbon to make a nice base for the sentiment tag.

The gorgeous image of the girl all comes together pre done
on a sheet of decoupage.
The base shaped layer and lots of layers ready to decoupage.
They have also included a sentiment and tags.
I have only used three layers  as I don,t like my decoupage to be too high.

I,ve printed this out on photo paper
and I think it gives a lovely finish to the card.

There are some beautiful images on this CD and some lovely shaped toppers.
No doubt you will be seeing some of them in the next few weeks.

Unfortunately I didn,t get my box made for the crib,
maybe tomorrow!, but then I said that yesterday!!

Until tomorrow

Spring Colours

Hi everyone , guess what it stopped raining yesterday,
well for a couple of hours anyway!

Today's card is from a kit I bought from create and Craft
a long time ago now.

I just love the colours on this card.
To me they are really elegant and stylish, I would love to receive this card!!
That's what I,ll do, I,ll send it to myself, haha!
then I can keep it for the mantlepiece!!.
Good idea don,t you think??

I have used the obligatory card candi for embellishments
and a simple sentiment was all it needed.

I,m trying to finish my baby crib box,
but getting no where fast today, never mind I,ll keep at it.

I hope you are all having a great day ,with lots of crafting.

until tomorrow

Baby Crib

Hi there crafter's it's still raining here
So much for the drought!

Well here's what I was up to last night.
A little boys baby crib for a niece who is due
within the next couple of weeks.

I,ve used an Arty Farty template,
you don,t hear about them much now do we?
Still in good use though and surprisingly easy to make,
just a bit time consuming.
Some of the colour has gone funny in the photos but not too bad.

Here it is from different angles.

From the left and from the right

I hope she doesn,t see it on here,
but then she,s already had a pink version,
now a matching blue one.

I,m sure she,ll like it and it will make
a nice welcome gift for my first great nephew.

Only the box to make now.
It has solid top and bottom with an acetate from and sides.
I,ll post it once its all finished.

Until tomorrow

Cute Christmas

I decided that as the weather was so wet and windy
I,d make a Christmas themed card!

Wow did it pound down  and so windy definitely time to craft.
So this card is another easel using an X Cut die
for the card base and the layers.

The decoupage is from QVC along time ago.

The ribbon stopper is from a Glitter Girls embossing board,
as you will have noticed I do use this a lot on my cards.

It's a simple but stylish,( in my opinion!), card,
I,m sure I can find a family member to send this to.

What I should really be doing is a welcome gift and card for my
great nephew who is due in the next couple of weeks .
So I,d better go and get on with it .
I will share what I make over the next day or so.

Until tomorrow
keep crafting.

Good Memories

Hi there everyone thanks for visiting my blog.
Today;s card is one I made when I worked at Riverside Crafts
in Goole (which is now closed, unfortunately).

It was part of a display I was doing to promote the
new Cute Companions Stamps and CD that were released for Christmas,
a year or so ago now.

The card was made using a  Glitter Girls embossing board.
The images are from Jayne's collection.

I found the photos while I was looking for an image I had lost.
It made me sad, but happy all at the same time as
I have fond memories of working there.

Working in a craft shop, is there a better job!!??

Ahh the good old days!

 Better Late Than Never!

I tried to schedule my post yesterday
but unfortunately Google Chrome had other ideas!!

But I,ve persevered and finally won.
So here it is , better late than never!

Today's card is another easel card which
I planned for a male relative.
I only need to add the name on the front
and it will be finished, (just in case he,s looking!).

The decoupage is from La Pashe , three cars
on one sheet and easy to cut out.
The backing card is from a box of self
picked card from the Summer Crafting show at Doncaster, last year.
£6 for the box 2" deep, brilliant value for money.
I can feel a return journey coming on for replenishing my stocks ha ha.

The card base is just plain navy card cut to shape
with a die used as a faux layer.
Hopefully he,ll like it.

Well the sun is shinning today and
doesn,t it make you feel so much better.

So keep smiling , no matter what life throws at you.

look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
until then

Circles of Delight

Hi there blogger's

Here's another card from the kit I started
working on yesterday.
The colours are so delicate and have some lovely clear
embossing on them which unfortunately don,t show up on here.

I,ve added some pale pink card candi to give some interest to the sides.
A sentiment under neath to draw the eye in , then ready
How easy was that , a bit of circle pyramage and it's done.

Just a quick post for today as I have more cards to make.

So until tomorrow

Square Cards

Whoops I,m late today!

I forgot to schedule my post, how silly am I?

So better late than never, here is today's card.

This is made using a kit I bought from Create and Craft
at least three, if not more, years ago.
They provided an 8 x 8 card with gorgeous embossing
detail and background designs.
An inner patterned insert liner.
The die cut pyramage, both inny and outty!

All I needed to do was but it all together using
foam pads to add the dimension and
I,ve added ribbon to the edge with a faux knot,
also the Doo Hickey die tag to hold the sentiment.

So not really what I would call 'real' crafting,
but it still ends up in a lovely card, don,t you think!?!
Very quick and easy for a lost mojo day!

The quality is absolutely top class, the cards pre scored
and don,t you just love square cards?
I do, especially 8 x 8 and 5 x 5
so useful and easy to decorate.
Guess what its a good easy shape for an easel!

There was a lot of different designs with in this set
so I,ll share some more with you over the next few weeks.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

until tomorrow

Christmas.. Debbi Moore Style

Good morning everybody
Today I am sharing a card I made using a
Debbi Moore CD.

I,ve used navy card to make the easel card base.
Backing paper from the CD as well
as the couple decoupage and the poinsetia's.
I,ve layered them up with glue gel and added glitter
although it doesn,t show up very well on this picture.

I just love the backing papers Debbi does,
they are so elegant and useable.
I often use the paper with lots of other decoupage sheets
and stamped images.

Her prices are so low as well, bargain!!

Here is a red version using a different image.

I,m well on with my Christmas crafting.

I,m dying to share a special project I made last year
but I,m going to save it for much nearer the time!

So keep watching this space
you,ll never know what you might see

until tomorrow

Adorable's by Jayne Nestorenko

Good Morning  Blogger's on this wet and cold morning.

I know we need the rain, but do we have to have it all in one go !!

Today,s card is one I made after watching Jayne Nestorenko
demonstrate it on Create and  Craft.
It was during the launch of the Adorables stamps and Cd.
I liked it that much I had a go for myself  to send to a friend
for her birthday and then one for me to keep.
How sad is that??
I like how it turned out, do you?

I have used Jayne Nestorenko's Christmas Adorable's
little girl holding the kitten comes from the CD decoupage section
and includes the teddy and basket.
The window came from the Cute Companion,s CD.

The images behind the window are Jayne,s Cute Duos
stamps and I,ve added torn card and glitter
to make it look like snow covered hills.

I think it shows how well all her ranges work well
together and I love using them all in this way.
The card opens tent style and no it,s not an easel!!

BUT IT COULD BE !!!

Car Crazy!

Hi there blogger's

Hope the weather is better where you are
it,s hardly stopped raining for days now.
I don,t know about a hose pipe ban, not here anyway!!

Today,s card is for a male friend who is mad on cars
particularly the old styles.
So this card should go down a treat!

Again I,ve used a die to make the card base.
Some decorative card for the background.

I,ve embossed the white layer with a script folder and
dusted over it with distress ink, so it,s nice and subtle.
The glitter Girls embossing boards were out again, this time one of the bars
to make the stopper.
All in all a simple man's card.

until tomorrow
take care

Look not an easel card !!

I hope all regular follower's are already sitting down!
This may come as a huge shock.

TODAY,S CARD IS NOT AN EASEL CARD

There I said and did it!!

I made this card a few months ago now and it was
obviously pre-easel phase.
It does share one of my other passions though
the Glitter Girls embossing boards.
This one is from the Treasured Memories 12 x12 board.

The decoupage is bugging me,because for the life of
me I can,t think where its from,
but then it was months ago and I have slept since then!!

I think the pale blues and white/creams work well together,
keeping it fresh, but simple too.

I,ve cut away some of the areas inside the embossed areas
to add extra interest and layered up
on 3D foam to give a bit of height.
The  usual card candi to add a little something
to the corners and sentiment.

I hope you like it,
once you,ve recovered from the shock that is.

Enjoy your day, hope you get time to craft yourself.

until tomorrow

It,s a Cracker!

Yes It,s still Christmas around here.

Here are a couple of crackers I made using
Whichcraft cards cracker pre cut cards.

I bought them from the Craft show they organise
at The Dome in Doncaster.

I,ve stuck the bottom part up onto the middle section
so that it would sit nicely on the table
for Christmas dinner.
It,s been decorated with backing paper
 from Jayne Nestorenko,s Adorable,s CD.

I also used some of the stamps to decorate the sides and
some punched snowflakes to add texture.

The finished ones had ribbon tied around the top
part to bring it together and a tag with our names on it.
I have used ribbon around the joining at the bottom
to cover the join decoratively.

I filled them with sweets , which as you can see
are now empty, but ready to use again next year.

I think we can have Christmas early this year as I,m nearly ready
are you ??

If only this was true!

Santa,s here

Christmas again today I,m afraid, just one
of the many I have made over the last few weeks.

I used a small stamp to create the background,
but only coloured the berries red using a Sakura pen.

The card base is made using a X Cut die
with faux stitching around the edge.
Again the ribbon bow from the Glitter Girls Illusion board
edged with silver fine line peel off's.

The decoupage is from QVC years ago I think .
I,ve resisted using them for ages now ,but I finally had to give in.
Then I can buy some new goodies to take their place!!
See!  method in my madness.

Tomorrow i,ll try to dig out some photo,s of something
I,ve made other than Christmas.
Can,t promise though, ha ha

so until tomorrow

Ruby Wedding Anniversary

Here is today's card, its for a friends, relations
Ruby Wedding Anniversary.

They wanted something more traditional, so
I,m hoping this will do the job!

Its an easel card but on a flat base
and not in the usual easel style.

The top picture shows the card open
and the one below when it is closed.

The backing paper is from a Debbi Moore CD.
The sentimient is cut out with a die and
layered on a faux nestie.
The heart shape is also a Spellbinder die.

On this one I have used flowers to accent the sentiment
and the decoupage is made up using Pinflair glue gel
to give it a more realistic look.

I hope you like it.

until tomorrow

Christmas Crafting

Yes I know I will be traumatising some people
but I,ve really enjoyed making quite a few Christmas cards
over the last couple of weeks.

These ones are spoken for and will keep a friend happy.
I don,t know about you but I find Christmas crafting so much easier
as the choice is more varied and suitable to wider audiences.

For this one I used an X Cut die and made it into an easel.
Is any shape safe!!!
no absolutely not, I can make an easel out of anything!
Now there,s a challenge!

The decoupage is from a Flowersoft CD and
the ribbon bow from the Glitter Girl,s Illusion board.

I,ve made quite a few variations on a theme with this one,
I,ll be showing you more in the days and weeks to come.

Hope you ,ve had a great Easter break,
now all we need is some more sunshine.

until tomorrow

Railway Children

Hi there crafter's

April is definitely living up to its reputation
April Shower's.

Plenty of time to craft, which is good,
should really be ironing but its turning into a bit if a sculpture!
so I,d hate to spoil it now!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today,s card is on the same lines as a few cards
 I have shared with you.
It,s been very popular with friends and a favourite of mine too.

An easel card of course! is there any other style?
I may just surprise you all one day,
not sure which one though , so you,ll have to keep looking.
You would,t want to miss it now would you?

Going back to this card.
I used the Faye Whittaker CD from Joanna Sheen.
The decoupage is already done for you, except cutting out of course.
It started off being oblong and I have used a die to give
it a new look. I think it works well as an easel and gives it more depth.

To get all the layers correct and in line, start with the base layer.
Draw around the shape of the die and cut out.
Then cut out all the other pieces.
Take the second layer and lay it on the top of the first layer.
Draw around the original piece to get the shape correct.
Make sure it is ligned up, continue in this way
for all the layers, then use glue gel in the normal way.

Use a smaller die for the sentiment and layering ,
card candi to embellish and
faux stitching around the edge to give interest.

Hope you enjoy your day
Don,t forget to share your cards with me
 via email or on facebook.
I,ll look forward to seeing them.

until tomorrow

Die-Cut Floral Easel

Hi crafter's
Well the Easter weekend is well and truely over now,
so hopefully the weather will pick up.

Today's card is surprise , surprise an easel card.
I,ve used different dies to make the base card
and for the matting and layering.

A different one for the decoupage mount and labels 4
for the sentiment . I don,t know what I would do without
labels 4, they are so useful.

The decoupage sheets were from QVC and Dawns early shows.
There are some truely gorgeous designs in the pack
which I have been using up for years.
I keep going back to them but always want to save them for best!!

So one lucky friend is now going to be allowed one!!

I hope you are having a good week
enjoy your crafting

until tomorrow

Martha Stewart Punch Storage

This is a storage unit my husband built me to store
my Martha Stewart punches
. It,s been extended since this photo was taken,
it sit,s behind the door so it is making the best use of dead space.

I now also have a shoe storage, hanging, bag thing, that hangs
behind the door again to maximise my storage space.
It holds some of my larger punches, cans of spray glue and other random tools.

It was the first step I took to organising my craft room.

This is what it looked like before I started a year or so ago.
I cringe when I see this now!

Can you spot the difference? Please say yes!

I have to say ,
memorize this because it may never happen again ! he he

what,s on your workspace
Dare you own up ?

until tomorrow
